Christmas With ISS Facility Services

Meet my new pal Rudy, I met him when I popped into ISS Facility Services to run a Christmas Bauble workshop earlier this month. I was greeted by a dreamy winter wonderland scene and held the workshop next to the glowing lights of an iceberg. That’s a new one for me!

Before the event I created some samples, we were working on flat wooden baubles as these are easier to paint than a curved surface. I had created samples using repeat patterns and went armed with a ream of inspiration to help generate ideas. Often people feel a bit stumped at the beginning so having plenty of visual inspiration helps get those creative juices flowing.

After a quick safety briefing (don’t drink your paint water, and please clean your brushes to avoid getting covered in paint!) the colleagues got stuck in, and I was so impressed with the variety of baubles created. Everyone had a lovely time, it’s such a good way to clear your mind and get away from. the desk for a couple of hours. It’s always a wee joy for me to see people visibly relax while they paintl!
