Wedding FAQ’s

  • I'm based in my studio in the East End of Glasgow and I work with couples across Scotland. I'm happy to travel for live events - just get in touch and I'll let you know what's possible for your venue.

  • I create bespoke hand lettered and illustrated pieces including welcome signs, order of the day signs, table plans, and place cards, plus personalised items like painted denim jackets and leather goods. Everything is completely one of a kind and designed around you.

  • Pricing depends on the piece, with prices starting from around £300 for calligraphy only welcome signs and order of the day signs, and from £500 for illustrated welcome signs and table plans. Download my wedding brochure for the full price list or get in touch for a personalised quote.

  • Wedding stationery and signage should ideally be booked several months ahead, especially for peak wedding season, since each piece is handmade to order. Get in touch as early as you can once you've got a date and venue confirmed - and don’t worry if it’s a tight timeline - I’ll always do my absolute best to make it work!

  • Yes, every piece is bespoke. I'll work with you on colours, wording, and style so it fits your day, whether that's traditional, alternative, or somewhere in between.

  • Collection from my Glasgow studio is the default option. Delivery can be arranged by special request, just let me know when you enquire.

Live Personalisation FAQ’s

  • Live personalisation is an in person service where I hand engrave, or write beautiful calligraphy items for guests on the spot at your event.

    Each guest receives a personalised keepsake from your day and it adds some theatre for everyone to enjoy!

  • Glassware, hip flasks, cufflinks, mirrors and other suitable items can be engraved live at your event.

    Leather keyrings, luggage tags, bookmarks, minature favour bottles, paper fans, coasters… the list is endless!

    Let me know what you'd like to offer guests and I'll advise on what works best.

  • Yes. I am fully insured and provide risk assessments for each event, including for corporate clients, so your venue and health and safety team can review exactly how the engraving station will run.

    My set up is well contained and offers no risk to your guests, just a lot of fun watching the magic happen!

  • This depends on guest numbers, event length and the complexity of each piece.

    We can discuss guest numbers, suggested designs and event timings and location. Then I'll advise on pacing and whether a second calligrahper is required.

  • Either works. I can source suitable items or personalise items you supply, such as branded glassware or gifts, just let me know what you have in mind.

    If you are providing the items I will always ask for a couple of items to be delivered to my studio in advance of the event. This means I can test materials in advance and create examples to show people on the day.

  • I usually request a small table or station with access to a power supply and a comfortable chair. Once I know your venue I will be able to provide a more comprehensive list… generally I’m self sufficient so long as there’s a table and a chair!

  • Email hello@toastytype.com with your event date, venue, guest numbers, and a rough idea of what you’d like to be personalised. I can then confirm availability and arrange a call to talk through the details.

  • Prices start from £500 for 3 hours of personalisation plus the cost of the personalisation items if required.

    Journeys over 20 miles is charged at 50p a mile.

    If your venue is further than 2 hours from Glasgow then an overnight stay may be required.

  • I’m based in Glasgow and happy to travel to your venue anywhere in the UK or worldwide. See question above for pricing on travel and accomodation.
